KUMMANAM RAJASEKHARAN (25th May 2018 to 8th March 2019)

Born on December 23, 1952 at Kummanam village of Aymanam in
Kottayam district, Kummanam Rajasekharan completed his school
education from Government Upper Primary School, Kummanam and NSS
High School, Kottayam then completed his pre-degree from
Baselius College, Kottayam later on graduated from CMS College
Kottayam with a Bachelor of Science in Botany. After that he
took a postgraduate diploma in Journalism and started his
journalism career by joining to Deepika daily, Kottayam in 1974.
Later he played different roles in many dailies in Kerala. He
was the sub editor of Rastravartha daily, Kochi, He also took
the role of sub editor in Keraladesam daily Thiruvananthapuram,
Kerala Bhooshanam daily Kottayam and Kerala dwani daily Kottayam.
In 1976, he took a short break from his journalism career and
joined the Food Corporation of India, Kochi. In 1987, he
resigned from this government job and became a full-time social
worker. He launched several movements to protect environment and
to ensure social security and empowerment of backward people.
He took the Oath of Office of the Governor of Mizoram, North
Eastern State sharing an international border of 722 kms with
Myanmar and Bangladesh, on 29th May 2018.
